General Schuyler Emergency Squad Update

Wilton Emergency Squad, Inc., a non-profit focused on quality pre-hospital healthcare, and General Schuyler Emergency Squad, Inc., a Schuylerville based nonprofit organization are in the process of forming a strategic partnership that will culminate in a merger. The two entities operate nonprofit ambulance services in northern Saratoga County.

The two entities have determined that their complementary organizations could better serve their respective missions and the combined needs of the communities they serve through this organizational alignment.Simply, the two organizations will be stronger as one.

This merger is in line with a national trend to combine emergency medical resources within communities said Nashua Alexander, Wiltons Chief Operating Officer. The rapid rise of costs are necessitating some retooling of organizations to meet current and future demands, streamline and simplify efforts, and ensure that strong nonprofit organizations continue to serve communities

Both organizations see an innovative alignment of complementary operations and services to more effectively address the needs of the community.

These are two award winning organizations coming together for the good of the community stated Joanne Hanna, Chairwoman of General Schuyler. This merger made sense, given the two organizations similar core values, missions, and goals

The Wilton Emergency Squad, Inc. name will remain. The organization will operate out of both stations with no reduction in vehicles or level of service.

There will be an informational meeting held at 7:00 PM on April 13th at the General Schuyler Station located at 901 State Route 29, Schuylerville, NY.
