The month of March brings us longer and warmer days, the start of spring and the eternal hope of new life and better days.The next meeting of the Town Board is scheduled for Monday, March 13th at 7:00 p.m.Some of the items that will be covered at this meeting include: zoning officer's report, town clerk's report, supervisor's report, committee reports, and Schuyler Park updates.On Thursday, March 9thh the Town Board will conduct their monthly agenda meeting at which they will review agenda items scheduled for the March 13th meeting.In addition representatives of Living Services Solar will present the Town Board with a Solar Installation Proposal that would be located at the Town Highway Department property and Tracy Clothier from the LA Group and Jaime O'Neill from the Saratoga County Planning Department will describe the Farmland Preservation Project which the Town is conducting.

 

Small Business Workshop to be conducted at the Town Hall

 

The Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership has scheduled a Small Business Workshop that will be held at the Town Hall at 12 Spring Street in Schuylerville on Thursday March 30th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.��� Whether you are just starting a business, experiencing your first growing pains, or ready to move your businessto the next level, the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership and partners are ready to assist you every step of the way in this process.Hear from experts on the top things that you should know, including business planning and expansion tools and small to mid-size business finance options.The Workshops will end with one-to-one sessions between the attendees and experts.The workshop is free.To RSVPcall 871-1887 and for additional informationgo to saratogapartnership.org.

 

����������� View Your Tax Bills on Line

��������� All residents can now view their tax bills on line.You will be able to confirm that they have been paid, will be able to print out your receipt, and if they have not been paid you will be able to pay them using a credit card.To view this information got to the town web sitewww.townofsaratoga.com and click on the tax collector link.

��������� Champlain Canal Region Gateway Visitors Center

��������� Progress continues to be made on the regional Gateway Visitors Center located in Schuylerville. The Visitors Center is being built by the Historic Hudson Hoosic Partnership and is expected to be completed and open to the public in the Spring of 2018.There will be a special frame raising by the Timber Frame Guild on Friday June 16th at 11:00 am.

��������� Municipal Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan

��������� The Town of Saratoga applied for and received a $25,000 grant from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets to review the town comprehensive plan and develop an Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan update.A work group has been established and preliminary discussions have started.A community wide meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29th at 6:30 pm in the Town hall to share information about the current state of agriculture in the town and to gain input and suggestions from town residents as to steps that the town can take to promote and encourage agricultural pursuits.

��������������� The Assessor�s Office continues to update our files for the 2017 Assessment Roll.�� Notices with your new value will be sent in mid-March.If there has been no change to your current value, you will not receive a notice.If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 695-3644, ext. 312.Our office is located at 12 Spring Street on the 2nd floor.�� The Assessor�s Office is open Monday and Wednesday inMarch from 9:00 AM � 1:00 PM.

����������� March Tax Collection Schedule

 

����������� During the month of March, Town Tax Collector Margaret Kirkpatrick will be in the Town Hall on Mondays from 9:30 am�� to 4:00 p.m.Taxes may be mailed to Marge at anytime.Tax bills not paid by March 31st will be returned to the Saratoga County Treasurer�s Office.If you have any questions for Marge, call him at 695-3644 X 318.
