Champlain Canalway Trail Information

Town of Saratoga

The Town of Saratoga is busy working on sections of the Champlain Canalway Trail.  When completed the trail will go from Waterford to Whitehall.  To date the Town has completed a 1/2 mile section just off Wilbur Road extending to the Town of Stillwater line.  The Town is currently working on a 1.2 mile section along U.S. Route 4 from the Sword Surrender Site to Garnsey Lane.  The North trail head parking area, split rail fence, and the trail are complete.  The town recently acquired 2.34 acres of land  and is in the process of building the south trailhead.

The trail is open to visitors to use at their desire.  No motorized vehicles are permitted on the trail.  Picnic tables will soon be placed at both trailheads and at a central point on the trail so that hikers may enjoy a peaceful picnic.
